The inaugural Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) Heritage Awards will be presented at Conway Hall, the beautiful 1920s home of the Ethical Society, in Red Lion Square, London. We’re proud to be sponsoring the new Sustainable Heritage Awards which advocates the best new design skills being used in upgrading old buildings or adapting them for new uses in a changing environment.
The awards will be championing excellence in built heritage across the UK and Ireland, bringing established SPAB awards together with fresh new ones, and waving the flag for all the gifted craftspeople, dedicated custodians and environmentally conscious practitioners that work tirelessly to ensure that our astonishing built heritage has a bright future.
Designer, writer and TV presenter Kevin McCloud will be hosting the evening, which will take place on Thursday 3 November 2022 to audiences both live and online.
“These awards celebrate excellence in everything I hold dear: conservation, intelligent design, sustainability and craftsmanship. I’m also proud to have been a member of the SPAB nearly all my adult life. Since 1877 the Society has continued to guide us through the conservation process, build a vast reservoir of expertise and casework and also champion sensitive contemporary architecture in pursuit of the distinction between old and new.”
